Ready to take the plunge into dermal fillers? Well done! And rest assured, when performed by aesthetic medicine professionals, the results are stunning, both for your skin and your self-confidence. To make this experience even better, let us guide you through a few best practices. Let’s discover together the dos and don’ts before and after dermal fillers. Here we go!

The do’s and don’ts before dermal fillers:

Let the pro do the work: we can’t say it enough but calling on a professional in aesthetic medicine – one who specializes in dermal fillers – is the key to reliable, quality results. At FILLMED, you entrust your face to the experts.

For 45 years, we have been developing anti-aging medical products enriched with highly concentrated ingredients. Each person is unique, and so is their perception of beauty. That’s why we’ve developed four distinct approaches to meet every aspiration:

    • Prevention: to preserve the skin’s youth and capital
    • Beautification: to enhance your natural features and add a touch of uniqueness.
    • Correction: to transform a feature or improve an aspect of your face.
    • Restoration: to fight the signs of time and restore lost volumes.

Once you and your aesthetic doctor have chosen the approach that suits you best, here are a few key steps to follow to ensure the success of your injection.

Bet on arnica: to prepare your skin and prevent the risk of hematoma, it’s a good idea to take arnica tablets or apply an arnica-containing cream to the area to be treated.

Play it easy with alcohol: the day before the injection, it is recommended not to consume alcohol as it increases the risk of hematoma.

The do’s and don’ts of the injection day

Take a break: to be as relaxed as possible, it’s best to avoid caffeine on D-Day.

Play it soft with make-up: even if it’s not an absolute necessity, arriving make-up free is preferable. This will save you time, as the doctor has to remove makeup and disinfect the skin before proceeding with the injection.

The do’s and don’ts after dermal fillers

Be careful with heat: in the days following injection, stay out of the sun and away from heat sources. Steam baths and saunas are prohibited. It’s not dangerous, but it destroys the product.

Have a light hand: exerting pressure of any kind on the injected area is not recommended. So, resist the temptation to touch or massage (unless your practitioner instructs you otherwise). Also, keep the Gua Sha and jade roller in the cupboard for several days at the risk of bruising, swelling, or even migration of the product.

Avoid activities too strenuous for your face: for the same reasons, we avoid sports and facial yoga, which can lead to product migration. If you’ve had an injection in your lips or bitterness folds, avoid activities that could cause the product to move excessively, such as a dental appointment, karaoke, or a comedy show, for 2 or 3 days.

Pamper your epidermis: After a cosmetic procedure, it’s essential to adopt an appropriate skincare routine. Fortunately, at FILLMED, our SKIN PERFUSION range has been specifically designed to pamper and protect your skin following an aesthetic procedure. Our two must-have products for post-treatment?

B3-Recovery Cream: this care product, enriched with vitamin B3, moisturizes, repairs, and strengthens the skin barrier while stimulating collagen production.

UV-Skin Protect: this cream combines high UVA/UVB SPF 50 protection with the antioxidant benefits of vitamin E and the regenerating power of vitamin B3, all reinforced by a deep moisturizing agent.

RE-TIME Serum: this serum, enriched with Vitamin A, considered one of the leading anti-wrinkle ingredients in dermatology, acts to visibly reduce all types of wrinkles. Ideal for enhancing post-procedure results.

Revisit your practitioner: it’s always a good idea to schedule a post-injection follow up with your aesthetic doctor. This allows the doctor to evaluate the results, make any minor adjustments if necessary, and address any concerns you may have.

Your well-being and satisfaction are at the heart of our mission at FILLMED. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

FILLMED’s products are injectable medical device range. Ask your doctor for advice. If any adverse event occurs, please inform your doctor. Vigilance contact (notification of an adverse event): vigilance@fillmed.com
