CHEMICAL PEELS: A PROFESSIONAL GUIDE TO BRIGHTER, SMOOTHER SKIN

10 min read

Have you noticed that your skin doesn’t look as radiant as it used to? Fine lines appear more visible, dark spots settle in, and your complexion looks uneven or tired. Even when you feel good inside, your skin may no longer reflect that vitality.

Over time, natural cell renewal slows down, and daily aggressors such as sun exposure, pollution, stress, and fatigue start to leave visible marks on the skin. The good news? There is a professional solution that can visibly restore brightness, smoothness, and evenness: chemical peels.

Treating wrinkles and skin sagging with a professional chemical peel

At FILLMED, we have developed a complete range of professional chemical peels designed to gently resurface the skin while respecting its balance, even for sensitive skin. Thanks to carefully selected acids and a well-tolerated formulation, FILLMED peels target wrinkles, fine lines, dullness, and pigmentation with precision and safety.

What is a chemical peel and how does it work?

A chemical peel is a professional dermatological treatment that helps improve skin texture, tone, and radiance. Performed by a trained practitioner, it involves applying a controlled acid-based solution to the skin to remove dead cells and stimulate natural cell renewal.

As the skin regenerates, the complexion looks fresher, smoother, and more even. Chemical peels are particularly effective for concerns such as:

  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven texture
  • Dark spots and pigmentation

Unlike mechanical scrubs, chemical peels work evenly and deeply, without friction. This ensures more consistent results and longer-lasting improvements, while respecting the skin barrier.

FILLMED peels are formulated with gluconolactone, a next-generation exfoliating ingredient from the Poly-Hydroxy Acid (PHA) family. PHAs are larger molecules than traditional acids. Because they penetrate the skin more slowly, they provide a gentler, more progressive exfoliation, which explains their improved tolerability. That makes it a very interesting molecule for sensitive skin.

To address specific concerns, gluconolactone is combined with other targeted acids such as glycolic, mandelic, citric, or phytic acid. This allows each peel to deliver indication-specific benefits tailored to your skin’s needs. Some help reduce wrinkles, others fade dark spots, and others improve radiance. This allows your practitioner to choose the peel that best matches your skin’s needs.

What skin concerns can FILLMED peels address?

Every skin is different, and so are its needs. That’s why FILLMED offers peels designed to target specific concerns, with formulas carefully developed to match each patient’s skin needs while respecting the balance and long-term health of the skin.

Fine lines and lack of radiance

If your skin looks dull or if early signs of ageing are starting to appear, FILLMED light peel is the ideal option. It gently exfoliates the surface, smooths fine lines, and instantly boosts radiance for a fresher, more luminous complexion.

Wrinkles and loss of firmness

When wrinkles become more pronounced and skin firmness decreases, FILLMED time peel offers a more intensive approach. Thanks to its low pH, it helps refine the appearance of wrinkles and improves skin firmness, making it one of the best peel options for deeper signs of ageing.

Dark spots and uneven skin tone

If pigmentation, age spots, or uneven complexion are your main concerns, FILLMED bright peel is the targeted solution. Its specific pH and phytic acid help reduce discoloration, even out skin tone, and restore clarity and brightness.

FILLMED peels: a professional 3-step protocol

FILLMED chemical peels follow a precise, medical-grade protocol designed to deliver visible and progressive results while respecting skin safety.

A full treatment plan consists of 4 sessions spaced 14 days apart, allowing the skin to renew gradually without irritation. To maintain results, a maintenance session every 6 months is recommended.

Step 1: Skin preparation

Each session begins with gentle skin preparation. After protecting sensitive areas such as the eyes and lips, the practitioner applies FILLMED PRE PEEL.

By gradually lowering the skin’s natural pH, FILLMED PRE PEEL prepares the skin for low-pH peels, helping to respect the skin barrier and ensure controlled, even exfoliation.

Step 2: Application of the peeling solution

Depending on your skin concerns, the practitioner applies FILLMED LIGHT PEEL, TIME PEEL, or BRIGHT PEEL using a brush. The application time is carefully adjusted and progressively increased based on your skin’s tolerance, while your practitioner monitors comfort and safety throughout the session.

Step 3: Neutralisation and soothing

To stop the action of the acids, FILLMED POST PEEL restores its physiological pH (5–5.5), helping to neutralise the effects of the peel and rebalance the skin.

The skin is then gently rinsed and dried before applying B3-RECOVERY Cream, which soothes the skin and supports its natural repair process.

FILLMED peels can be used either as a stand-alone treatment, to improve skin quality, texture and radiance through exfoliation and regeneration, or as the first step of combined treatment protocols. In this context, superficial dead skin cells are removed, resulting in a skin surface that is more receptive to subsequent treatments, such as NCTF® 135 HA injections or energy-based device (EBD) treatments, including lasers.

What results can you expect?

Many patients notice visible improvements from the very first session. Skin appears smoother, brighter, and more refreshed.

Each FILLMED peel offers specific clinical benefits, targeting different skin concerns.

Bright Peel

  • Significant reduction in dark spots
  • Improvement in skin radiance

Time Peel

  • Improvement in skin texture
  • Significant reduction in the total wrinkle surface

Light Peel

  • Significant reduction in fine lines
  • Improvement in skin radiance

Thanks to the gentle action of gluconolactone, results develop progressively without excessive peeling or downtime. Individual results may vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, and the concerns treated, which is why professional assessment is essential.

Aftercare and maintenance

After your peel, the skin continues to regenerate for several days. To optimise and prolong results:

  • Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, and intense heat for 48 hours
  • Hydrate regularly with post-procedure skincare designed to support the recovery phase, such as B3-RECOVERY Serum and HYALURONIC-YOUTH Mask (tested post-peeling, with +42% hydration after one mask)
  • Apply SPF 50 daily to protect the skin. UV-SKIN PROTECT can be your best ally
  • Makeup can usually be applied after 24 hours if the skin feels comfortable

Once the skin recovery phase is complete, your practitioner may also recommend specific FILLMED post-procedure and peeling-like products, such as PERFECTING SOLUTION or GLYCOPEEL Mask, to gently support skin regeneration and help maintain results over time.
